Wallpaper Round Two
I have completed redesigned my wallpaper. After taking a closer look on printing my original design properly I just thought it wasn't weird enough, and my tutor very much agreed.
Here is a rough colourway of what it will look like, all apart from the black lines which will disappear once I've worked out how to use Illustrator.
Blue Plaque
A project I handed in just after Christmas was a collection of drawings for a book for the Blue Plaque society. I wanted the places left in blue so that you'd have to actually find the building to see what it looked like rather than just being a bit lazy and seeing it in the book.
Anyway, here is a little snippet of a few. The page doesn't actually look like this, each street view would be on one page, I've just grouped them together for ease of uploading them. When I've finished my FMP and all the other work that goes with it I'll look to uploading much better quality versions of everything, and also, fingers crossed, finished versions!

Alice in Wonderland Wallpaper - colourways
So here's a final drawing for my kitchen wallpaper; it's based on the Hatter's Tea Party in Alice in Wonderland. I went through a big phase of trying to actually get the entire tea part scene in the wallpaper, but it kind of came out looking like a children's bedroom wallpaper and I really did want it to have more of a kitchen feel.
I'm also now considering using rubber stamps that spell out 'Time for tea' in the shape of the steam instead of using an actual shape and also I think I want to incorporated the Cheshire Cat's face into the shape of one of the cups... even though he isn't actually in that scene, but I just think it'd add more interest.
Anyway, here are some colourways I think I might use for my wallpaper, not so sure on the first one though.

A poster
So, lots has happened in the last month. I have 4 new projects, which I'm sure I'll post about soon - one of them is producing wallpaper, massively excited (!) - I had a tension headache for an entire WEEK so that threw me off course and I've had to work extra hard since, and on top of all that I've had to put together a disseration plan - joy!
We had a very nice email come through last week asking for us to produce a poster for a charity called 'Cool 2 Care' advertising some Christmas festivities they'll be holding in order to raise money. They wanted it to be colourful and fun and festive, as well as conveying the message of what they were raising their money for. I had a lot of fun putting this together -possibly my favourite thing I've made yet- although it did take me days to get hold of a doily... In the end I had to use a nasty plastic one I found in a shop for 79p that had a horrible metallic silver on it, but actually when I put it on I thought it was perfectly suited!
It is a bit of a competition though so I might not actually get my poster displayed, but I love how it's turned out anyway so I don't mind. So, if you're in London on the 17th you should go down and show your support, especially if you have children, or one you could borrow.

a constant headache
I find book illustration HARD. I'm much better with the design side of things so when a book project crops up - which is a lot - I'm pretty much in a bad mood for the entire project, especially the last few days because I find it difficult to create "atmosphere" especially when I'm big on pochoir. Anyway, here's something that I'm working on, the first stage of it anyway - and I decided to use monoprint to highlight all the detail which has really helped my work progress.
Sorry it's upside down, I'm too tired to flip it!
